- Understand, validate, correct, and act on Material Requirement planning (MRP) and its messages. Get BOM, yields corrected to ensure MRP signal is right.
- Sources, purchases, plans, and schedules the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods, and related material through production and inventory process.
- Actively manages raw material inventory – analyzing it , reducing unhealthy inventory to exceed Partners with Sourcing Engineer on resolve supplier issue of Quality, capacity, Lead time
- Leads and participates in cross-functional projects involving Supply Chain, Sector and/or corporate initiatives that ensure business objectives are met.
- Ensure compliance to procedures and represent purchasing in audits.
- Coordinates and follows up with production, warehouse, IQC and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling, and movement of materials and services.
- Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.
- May monitor performance of suppliers and collaborate on demand analysis planning.
- Meet inventory goals while supporting material requirements for production.
- Maintain PO for dates and Quantity to remain current and drive excellence in Supplier OTIF
- Represent Purchasing in Manufacturing, Operations Scheduling and other daily Tier meetings.
- Very close co-ordination with supplier as well as Manufacturing to ensure there are no line downs due to Material.
- Place timely purchase orders expedite material and resolve payment issues with suppliers.
- Partners with Commodity Management/ Supply Management on supplier Value Stream, Capacity Planning, supplier issues/delays and Business continuity assessment
- Proactively escalate any supplier issues, get buy in from cross functional team to ensure risk (of line down) are mitigated.
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
- Experience working with MRP/ERP systems (strong preference or QAD and SAP)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, etc.) or similar software.
- Strong data analysis, data management, and quantitative skills
- Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), team orientation, and ability to negotiate towards positive outcomes.
- Strong organizational skills and good understanding of team dynamics.
- Must be detail-oriented, with ability to connect the detail to higher level goals.
- Working knowledge of quality system requirements and good manufacturing practices.
- Experience working in a regulated environment (i.e., medical device, pharmaceutical)
- APICS and/or CPM Certification Cost accounting understanding/experience
- Understanding of contracts (supply, services, non-disclosures, etc.)
- Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt (or comparable training)
